Installing the ChartWorks Server

The information in this section supplements the installation instructions provided by Visual Mining, Inc., which are provided in the Siebel eBusiness Third-Party Bookshelf. It is not intended to replace them.

You can install ChartWorks Server on any server that the Siebel Server can connect to through HTTP. Typically, it is installed on the Siebel Server. Install at least one ChartWorks Server per Enterprise, and, preferably, one ChartWorks Server per Siebel Server. No additional license key is required for ChartWorks Server.

ChartWorks software is installed with the Siebel Mobile Web Client and Dedicated Web Client. The associated Windows service starts automatically when a chart is accessed within the client.

To install ChartWorks Server

1. Review preinstallation requirements. See the ChartWorks Server Installation Guide by Visual Mining, Inc., on the Siebel eBusiness Third-Party Bookshelf.
2. If you are installing from DVD, insert the appropriate DVD for the Siebel applications into the DVD drive:
   • Siebel eBusiness Applications, Base Applications for Windows
   • Siebel Industry Applications, Base Applications for Windows

     NOTE:  The volume label for the DVD is seawinunibase (for Siebel eBusiness Applications) or siawinunibase (for Siebel Industry Applications).

3. In Windows Explorer, navigate to the root directory of the DVD or to the appropriate network directory.
4. Navigate to Windows\Server_Ancillary\chartworks_server\language\windows.

   where:

   language = The three-letter code for the language of your Siebel eBusiness Applications product; for example, enu for U.S. English.

5. To start the ChartWorks Server installer, double-click ChartWorksServerx.x.SIEBEL.exe.
6. As you proceed from screen to screen using the installer, accept all defaults, with the exception of the Select Components screen.
7. On the Select Component screen, select only Server and Server Admin Console. Clear the other components listed.
8. After all files have been copied by the installer, manually copy the file DynamicChartResource.class, which is located with the Visual Mining ChartWorks Server installer, to the following directory:

   VISUALMINING_INSTALL_ROOT\ChartWorks Server 3.7.0\Server\root\classes\chartworks\es\resources

9. Restart your computer.
