Siebel Analytics Product Business Scenario

This scenario is an example of a process flow performed by a product sales organization's vice president, regional manager, and district manager. Your organization may have a different process flow.

Vice President

The vice president accesses the Executive dashboard every day to see an overview of the order pipeline and the top ten accounts. This gives the vice president a high-level view of the business. To obtain a different perspective of the state of the business, the vice president then views more-detailed information about the top ten products. Finally, to gauge potential opportunity revenue, the vice president examines order pipeline details.

Product Manager

Every day, the product manager accesses the Products dashboard to review information about the top ten products. A series of charts on this dashboard shows information from several perspectives. The product manager then accesses the Exception dashboard to view information about the top ten defective products and about obsolete products. This information can be used to make sure that the sales force is not emphasizing these products in its sales efforts.

The product manager also examine the customer satisfaction reports to assess the sources of common problems encountered by customers.

Pricing Manager

The pricing manager accesses the Pricing dashboard to obtain information about average selling prices and to examine revenue distribution across product lines. This information can be used to determine whether products are priced properly.

To gauge price list effectiveness, the pricing manager also examines revenue distribution and pricing trends by price list. Additionally, the pricing manager looks at various views of product promotions to see which promotions are the most profitable and which are the least profitable.
