Increasing Tracing Levels for Workflow Process Manager and Workflow Process Batch Manager
You can generate a more detailed trace file to assist in troubleshooting Workflow Process Manager and Workflow Process Batch Manager.
NOTE: These steps should be completed prior to executing the server process.
To increase tracing levels
- From the application-level menu, choose View > Site Map > Server Administration > Components.
- In the Components applet, choose the component for which you want to generate tracing, that is, either Workflow Process Batch Manager or Workflow Process Manager.
- In the Component Event Configuration tab, the Log Level column is set to a default value of 1. Change this value from 1 to 4 for the following Event Types:
- SQL Tracing
- Object Manager SQL Log
- Workflow Definition Loading
- Workflow Engine Invoked
- Workflow Process Execution
- Workflow Step Execution
NOTE: More tracing information is generated as the Component Event Configuration Log Level value increases. For more information on the different Log Level values available for Component Event Configuration, see Siebel Server Administration Guide.
You must set the SQL Trace Flag parameter to 8 when starting a Workflow Process Manager task or a Workflow Process Batch Manager task. You can adjust this setting at the component level or when starting the component. See To set the SQL Trace Flag parameter.
To set the SQL Trace Flag parameter
- At component level:
Navigate to View > Site Map > Server Administration > Components > Component Parameters.
NOTE: When making changes to Workflow Process Manager and Workflow Process Batch Manager in the Components view, the Siebel Server service does not need to be restarted. The changes take effect immediately.
- When starting a component request manually:
Navigate to View > Site Map > Enterprise Operations > Component Request.
NOTE: When making parameter changes at the component level in the Component Request view, the Siebel Server service does not need to be restarted for the changes to take affect.
The Workflow Process Batch Manager trace file (WfProcBatchMgr_xxx.log) and the Workflow Process Manager trace file (WfProcMgr_xxx.log) are located in the Siebel server/log directory. Once the process has completed, change the values that were modified back to their default value before running the same process again.
