Requesting a Virtual Meeting with eCollaboration

A Web site visitor can request a real time virtual meeting with an agent by clicking Contact Us, a button that is present on many Siebel customer application Web pages.

Besides the Java applets that are downloaded for each session, Siebel eCollaboration requires browser plug-ins to be on the caller's computer if the caller requests voice over IP or the collaboration includes a presentation session. The caller is offered a download of these plug-ins if they are not detected when the caller requests an collaboration session.

After one download, the caller does not typically have to download these plug-ins for subsequent sessions. However, if you upgrade your eCollaboration server, a newer version of these utilities may become standard, and a caller who has the previous version may need to download the new software. Siebel eCollaboration detects the version of client software and downloads new software when appropriate.
