Enabling WAP V1.1 Push Messaging

Siebel eBusiness Applications support WAP V1.1 Push (HDML) messaging to Openwave browsers. You must download and register the UPNotify.dll file from the Openwave software developer's kit.

NOTE:  The WAP V1.1 communications driver requires that the UPNotify.dll file be registered by users. This communications driver can be enabled only for Microsoft Windows operating systems. By default, port 4445 is used to connect to the network operator. You must make sure this port is available for use.

The WAP V1.1 communications driver has a single predefined profile, named WAP V1.1 Profile. This profile requires no profile parameter overrides.

Instead, both the unique identifier for the mobile device to be pushed to and the wireless gateway through which the message is pushed must be specified as the device address for the mobile device. This information is contained in the HTTP_X_UP_SUBNO header element for a particular device.

A utility is available within the Openwave software developer's kit to identify this information for a WAP V1.1 Push-compliant browser.
