PM Plans and Actions

PM plans define sets of activities for preventive maintenance. The steps in setting up a PM plan are also useful for understanding the function of a plan:

Create an SR template. Each SR template defines a type of preventive maintenance; for example, 5,000 mile service, or major overhaul.
Associate one or more activity templates with each SR template. An activity template (described in Using Activity Templates and Plans) is a set of activities to carry out a preventive maintenance objective.
Create a PM plan. Define triggers and products or assets covered by the PM plan. Associate one or more SR templates with the PM plan. You can also directly associate activity templates with the PM plan.
