Siebel Field Service Guide > Introduction >
What's New in This Release
The features that are new in Release 7.5 are as follows:
- Asset hierarchy. Siebel Field Service allows you to track assets as an n-level hierarchy of parent assets and child asset components. Child components inherit the properties of the parent asset.
- Assets screen improvements. New views and new fields on existing views are added to the Assets screen in support of new functionality.
- Asset transactions automation. Inventory transactions performed on an asset automatically include the components of the asset.
- Barcodes. Field Service can now import information scanned into a barcode reader.
- Agreements enhancements. Additional views and tabs in the Agreements screen allow you to associate notes, entitlement metrics, and orders with an agreement.
- Engines as business services. The Fulfillment Engine, Part Locator Engine, Replenishment Engine, Cycle Counting Engine, Preventive Maintenance Engine, and Mobile Inventory Transaction Engine are implemented as business services.
- Siebel Invoices ASI. A new ASI (Application Services Interface) imports invoice data from third-party invoicing applications into your Siebel application.
- Quality enhanced reports. New reports are added to the Quality screen.
- Quality multiple occurrences. You can apply a single product change request to multiple product platforms or versions. You can also define parent-child, dependency, and other relationships between change requests.
- Release Manager. A Release Manager module is added to allow you to plan and track product development projects.
- Field Service Analytics Applications. New reports are added to the Agreements module. For more information, see Siebel Analytics Installation and Administration Guide and Siebel Analytics User Guide.
Your Siebel implementation may not have all the features described in this guide, depending on which software modules your company has purchased.
