Creating a Compensation Plan Quota
You can create quotas for your organization using the Quotas view. Quotas can be selected for more than one plan, and multiple quotas can be associated with the same plan.
To create a new quota
- From the application-level menu, choose View > Site Map > Incentive Compensation Administration > Quotas.
- In the Quotas list, click New.
In the new quota record, the Display check box is automatically selected.
- In the Name field, enter a name for the new quota.
- In the Quota Type field, select either Amount or Quantity from the drop-down list.
- In the Performance Measure field, click the drop-down list and select the performance measure.
Options are Revenue, Units, Com Cred Rev (Commission Credit Revenue), or Quota Cred Rev (Quota Credit Revenue).
Your choice should be appropriate to the quota type you selected. See Configuring Incentive Compensation for information about configuring Quota Credit Revenue to create container records.
- Complete the remaining fields as necessary.
The following table describes the fields.
The Period and Measure Period fields must be specified when using the quota-setting tool. The Cumulative flag is used in conjunction with the Period and Measure Period Type.
For example, Table 27 illustrates how the quota target appears when the Quota Target is set to $100,000 (defined in Plan Quotas), the Period is 2003, the Measure Period Type is Quarter, and the Cumulative check box flag is not selected (set to False).
Table 27. Quota When Cumulative Flag Is FALSE Period Target Q1 2003 $25,000 Q2 2003 $25,000 Q3 2003 $25,000 Q4 2003 $25,000However, if the Cumulative check box flag is selected (set to True), Table 28 shows how the quota target appears.
Table 28. Quota When Cumulative Flag Is TRUE Period Target Q1 2003 $25,000 Q2 2003 $50,000 Q3 2003 $75,000 Q4 2003 $100,000NOTE: If you have plan rules that have associated plan rule quotas and a user changes the plan period, some dates are not automatically updated to match the new plan period.
