Performing a Pageset Data Search
You can perform Interactive Designer data searches on the selected pageset in two ways:
- Use the Pageset Search tab
- Use the Query button
Pageset Search searches all the data within a pageset. Pageset Search automatically performs a floating search. A floating search is a search that assumes wild cards around the search text. For example, in a search for ar, all text containing ar is returned.
Query queries the data in the Pageset list.
To perform a search using the Search tab
- Select the Pageset Search tab.
- Enter the text you want to find.
- Specify what to search: Cell Data, Column Names, or Table Names.
Select all three to search all three options.
- Click Search.
All matches for your search appear in the Search Results applet.
- Click a search result to open the view, pageset, and table that contains the search result.
To perform a search using the Query button
- On the tab in which you want to search for data, click Query.
A Query screen appears that lists all the fields for that tab.
- Enter data in the field you want to search by.
- Click Go.
The Query returns the results for your search. All other records will not appear until you perform another search.
