Recording Time Worked in the Activities Time View


The Activity Time view lets end users log time worked for individual activities. Time entries recorded in the Activity Time view are also visible in the My Time Diary view, until they are included in a time sheet for a specific period.

The following procedure explains how to record time worked for a specific activity.

To record time worked using the Activities Time view

  1. Navigate to the Activities screen.
  2. From the Show drop-down list, select My Activities.
  3. In the Activities list, select the activity for which you want to record time worked.
  4. Click the Time view tab.
  5. In the Time list, add a new record.
  6. Complete the fields. Some fields are described in the following table.

    Comments
    Billable
    When selected, indicates that the time can be billed to the associated account. The Account field is not shown by default in this view, but it can be displayed using the Columns Displayed command.
    Date
    Date on which the work was performed.
    Elapsed Time
    Read-only. Time difference between Start and End values. Automatically calculated.
    End
    Date when the time worked was concluded.
    Project
    Required. Project associated with the time worked. If the time was not worked for a specific customer project, you can enter a public project or a work type. When you associate a time item with a project by completing this field, Professional Services Automation automatically tracks your work in the Time Summary and Time Adjustment views in the Projects screen. Entering a value in this field and in the Project Role field allows the hourly rate to appear in the time sheet (as long as you are on the project access list and a role is defined for you in the Team Workbook).
    Project Role
    The function you were fulfilling for the selected project while working the reported time. Available values are set in the Team Workbook. Used in calculating the Effective Rate. Entering a value in this field and in the Project field allows the hourly rate to appear in the time sheet (as long as you are on the project access list and a role is defined for you in the Team Workbook).
    Reported Time
    Amount of time that you are reporting. May differ from Elapsed Time.
    Start
    Date when the time worked began.
