Tuning the Siebel Web Server Extension for AIX
You must first tune the Siebel Web Server Extension to run Siebel applications on AIX.
To tune the Siebel Web Server Extension for AIX
- On your AIX server, navigate to the
bindirectory in the Siebel Web Server Extension installation directory.- Using a text editor such as
vi, open theeapps.cfgfile for editing.- Set
AnonUserPoolto 20% oftarget No. of users. This is the minimum required.- Set
GuestSessionTimeoutto60.NOTE: This configuration is required for scenarios where the user is browsing without logging in.
- Set the appropriate
AnonUseruser names and passwords according to your user authentication strategy. The following settings will work well in most deployments. For more complete information, see Security Guide for Siebel eBusiness Applications.
- For Siebel employee applications, such as Siebel Call Center with database login, set the user name to
SADMINand the password toSADMIN.- For Siebel customer applications, such as Siebel eService and eSales, set the user name to
GUESTCSTand the password toGUESTCST.- For Siebel ERM, set the user name to
GUESTERMand the password toGUESTERM.- For Siebel partner applications, such as Siebel eChannel, set the user name to
GUESTCPand the password toGUESTCP.- Set
MemoryAllocatortoONas the default setting.- Unset the environment variable
SIEBEL_MEMORY_ALLOCATOR, if this variable is already set in the environment.- Restart the Web server for these changes to take effect.
