Table 13 gives an overview of user interface elements in employee applications.

UI Elements
Description
Application-Level Menus
Menus with applicable commands carried over from the Windows client.
Branding Area
The area in which the Siebel Systems, Inc. logo will appear.
Control Banner
Area that contains a menu and buttons for a form or list.
Primary Applet
First form or list on page that displays the primary record or record set.
Detail Applet
Displays different sets of data based on the individual primary record. Data is automatically updated when primary record changes.
First-Level Navigation—
Primary Tabs
Set of screen-level navigation controls.
Second-Level Navigation—
Context Filter
Drop-down list that filters record set based on My, My Team's, and All. It can also display alternative views such as the explorer tree.
Third-Level Navigation—
Detail Tabs
Set of applet-level navigation controls that allow the user to see different sets of detail data based on the selected primary record.
Fourth-Level Navigation—
Drop-Down List
A single drop-down list used to change the view of a detail form or list. Most commonly used for seeing different levels of charts.
Record Navigation
Area that displays position within the record set as well as controls to move forward/backward within the record set.
Toolbars
The standard application toolbar is implemented using HTML. It displays application-level commands, such as History drop-down and Dashboard show icon.
Search
Integrated Search and Global Find launch button.
Favorites
List of saved and predefined queries for the view.
