Bidding Scenario for AutobidToReservePrice = TRUE


This example illustrates the bidding rules used when a single-quantity auction is auctioned with a English bid type using AutobidToReservePrice = TRUE. In this example, several bidders use the AutoBid feature. The Accept Partial Quantity setting does not influence a single-quantity auction because the auction contains only one item.

Note how the following properties have been set in the S_SYS_PREF table:

This auction is a single-quantity auction. The starting bid is set at $200, the bid increment is set at $25, and the bid is not sealed. The reserve price is $300.

The bidding for this auction is shown in the following tables ordered by first bid, second bid, third bid, and so on. The first part of Table 31 shows the user's bid; the second part of the table shows the result of that bid.

Bid Summary: Mary enters a Maximum Bid Amount (AutoBid) of $350. Because eAuc:AutobidToReservePrice = TRUE, her bid amount is raised by Siebel eAuction to meet the $300 reserve price set by the lister.
