Browsing an Auction
You can browse the items in an auction without registering with the auction. As an unregistered user, you cannot bid or list items, but you can view items in the catalog and view featured items.
To browse the auction listings
- Click the Auctions tab.
The Auctions screen appears, without any personalized content.
NOTE: The Members Area, the Listers Area, and the Place Bid form do not display for an unregistered user. For more information about these screen elements, see Auctions Screen.
- Click the hyperlink for the auction you want to view.
The Auction Item Detail screen appears, without the Place Bid form.
NOTE: To bid in the auction, click the Log In link and type your user name and password on the Log In screen.
- If you want additional auction information, click the hyperlink for Auctions Advanced Search.
The Auction Item Search screen appears.
- To browse all auctions, click Go without entering any data in the fields.
- To narrow your list of auctions, enter search criteria in the fields, such as selecting English from the Auction Type Code field, and click Go.
A list of auctions appears on the auction Item Search list.
- Click the hyperlink for the auction to view more information about the auction.
NOTE: Search results include auctions with expired auto-close dates. Expired auctions that were manually closed are not returned in search results.
