Browsing Interfaces by Status

Interfaces and Generic Services pass through different lifecylce stages. First a new interface is tested through a beta stage. Then an interface passes into production and is branded as stable. Eventually an improved or alternate version comes along and the interface is deprecated. Finally the interface is no longer supported and made obsolete.

The default publishing console encourages providers to indicate at which stage in its lifecycle a published interface happens to be and to maintain Registry records to reflect this aspect of its existence.

The Business Service Console lets you search for two Interface reports based on Interface status. You may look for those interfaces which are flagged as in a Beta test stage, and those which are flagged as Stable.

To Browse for Interfaces by Status

  1. If you are not already in the Browse Taxonomies control click on the Reports tab in the upper left corner of the console.

  2. In the left navigation panel, click on or expand the Interface Status node.

Clicking this node will load the Browse Taxonomies control with an Generic Services view of all records that have Status specified. An Interfaces tab allows to view just those record types.

Expanding this node will let you specify the Status state of the records you wish to view. Clicking either the Beta or Stable node will load only those records whose status has been set to one of these values.

  3. When switching to the interface tab, the specific type of view that loads will depend upon your general user profile. For most users this will be the Default view. You can now Filter the list or change the view with the result view drop down list box in the top right corner of the list.

To Change the Interface Tab Result View

Simply select the desired view in the View list box. The default view options include Default and Technical. Other views can be added by the administrator so this list may not completely reflect the list in your console.
