Searching for a Service by Name

There are two approaches to searching for a Service using the registry console; simple and standard.

To Simple-Search for a Service by Name...

  1. Click the Search tab at the top of the console.

  2. In the Simple Query box that loads, in the text field labelled Service name, either type the complete name of the service you seek, or a portion of it preceded and/or followed by the "%" wildcard.

  3. Click the Find service button to the right.

  4. In the record set that is returned, under the name field, click the link that matches the service you sought. The view for that Service will be loaded.

To Standard-Search for a Service by Name...

  1. Under the main Search tab, click the Service link.

  2. Click the Add Name button in the Search panel.

  3. Enter the service name. You can use the "%" wildcard at the start and end of the search string. For example "%Customer%" will return "AddCustomerService" and "CustomerNotificationService".

  4. Click the green check icon to the right to add the name to the set of search criteria

  5. If you wish to search for more than one service, add additional search strings by repeating steps 2 through 4

  6. Click the Find button at the bottom right corner of the page.

  7. The search result will appear on the Results pane. Click on the link with the desired service name. This opens its Service View page.

Note: Permissions and Visibility - If you are unable to find a desired Service, one likely reason may be that you do not belong to the security group permitted to view its records.
