Making Siebel Analytics Web Configuration Changes
This section provides procedures for making configuration changes in Windows and UNIX environments. You need to make changes only if you want to change default parameters, such as the name of the Siebel Analytics Web Catalog, or override internal default settings, such as the time for client connections to expire.
You can make configuration changes by modifying the Windows registry or the Siebel Analytics Web XML message file instanceconfig.xml.
- Sites running Siebel Analytics Web under UNIX must modify instanceconfig.xml.
- Sites running Siebel Analytics Web under Windows can modify either the Windows registry or instanceconfig.xml.
NOTE: In Windows, Siebel Analytics Web reads the file instanceconfig.xml first and then reads the Windows registry. Entries you make in the file instanceconfig.xml override equivalent entries in the Windows registry. If you made entries in the Windows registry for a previous version of Siebel Analytics Web, those entries continue to function unless you override them in the file instanceconfig.xml.
For information about working in the Windows registry, see Working In the Windows Registry.
For information about working in the file instanceconfig.xml, see Working in the Siebel Analytics Web Configuration File instanceconfig.xml.
