Creating and Testing Local Database Tables

Pointers to the DDLs are in the application configuration file and the database tables are created or overwritten when the application configuration file is executed by the Disconnected Analytics Application Manager.

NOTE:  Disconnected Analytics Application Manager bulk loads the data into the local database. It does not check for duplicates and always appends data. It is the administrator's responsibility to verify data integrity.

It is recommended that you use SQL Anywhere to test creation of the disconnected tables (your DDLs). You can choose to use another relational database such as MS SQL Server during development. However, before you can deploy a disconnected repository created in another relational database to mobile users, you must change the database connection pool values in the repository to the required disconnected SQL Anywhere values. For information about SQL Anywhere connection pool values, see Create the Physical Layer of the Disconnected Analytics Repository.

Creating and Testing SQL Anywhere Database Tables

If you decided to use SQL Anywhere during development, Siebel Systems provides the Sybase Interactive SQL utility (dbisqlc.exe) to help you perform developmental tasks. Sybase documentation provides instructions about how to use this utility. You can download the documentation from the Sybase Web site and search for Interactive SQL utility or contact Sybase.

Dbisqlc.exe allows you to create and test SQL Anywhere database tables. The following list contains general instructions:
