Configure an SNMP agent


To configure an SNMP agent to monitor and send notifications to SNMP managers from WLOC:

  1. Access the Controller page in one of the following ways:
    • Click the Controller tab in the WLOC navigation bar.
    • Click the Home tab in the WLOC navigation bar and click Controller under Manage Configuration.
  2. Click the SNMP Agent tab on the Controller page.
  3. Modify the following SNMP agent information, as required:

    Description

    Description of the SNMP agent. This field is optional.

    Host

    Host name of the machine that is running the SNMP agent.

    Port

    Port address at which the SNMP agent can be accessed.

    Trap Version

    Version of the SNMP trap that is supported by this SNMP agent. Valid options are Version 1 and Version 2.

    Enable Inform

    Flag that specifies whether SNMP informs are enabled.

    You cannot modify the name of the SNMP agent. The name defaults to MySNMPAgent.

  4. Click Save.

    The SNMP agent configuration settings are saved and the following confirmation message is displayed:

    Settings updatd successfully

Create an SNMP trap destination.
