Define general properties for a service

Before you begin

Review Define services and process groups.

To define general properties for a service:

Access the Services page in one of the following ways:
- Click the Inventory tab in the WLOC navigation bar and click Services.
- Click the Home tab in the WLOC navigation bar and click Services under Manage Inventory.
The list of currently defined services is displayed in the Services table.
Click New on the Services page.

Set the following fields, as required.

Field	Description
Name	Name of the service.
Description	Description of the service. This field is optional.
Retry Count	Number of times that WLOC tries to deploy the service.
Priority	Priority of this constraint over other constraints. The higher the number, the higher the priority.
Placement Algorithm	Preferred placement algorithm to use when selecting resource pools for the service. Valid options include: Prefer resource pools with the most resources Prefer resource pools with fewer resources

Perform one of the following steps:
- Click Next to define the process groups, as described in Define process groups for a service.
- Click Finish to define the service.
