Windows 2000 Server and Advanced Server on x86 with 7.0 SP3

Provides full support for WebLogic Server and WebLogic Workshop only. WebLogic Integration and WebLogic Portal are not supported. See below for Design and Development Tools support.

  • Supported only for WebLogic Server clients and the WebLogic Workshop IDE. Can be used to run WebLogic Server RMI or Web Services clients that remotely connect to a server running in a separate VM.

  • It is not supported by WebLogic Portal or WebLogic Integration clients and development tools. Is is also not supported by running server instances of WebLogic Server or other WebLogic Platform components.

JVM Heap Size Limitation

Although the JVM allows you to set heap size to values exceeding 2 GB, memory fragmentation and other Windows memory requirements typically limit the maximum contiguous address space available for Java applications to approximately 1.4 - 1.6 GB. JVM configuration problem:

A problem occurs if version 1.3.1_06 or 1.3.1_08 of the Java 2 SDK is configured to run the Java HotSpot server VM (with the -server option).

Use the -hotspot option, which invokes the Java HotSpot client VM.

To invoke the HotSpot client to start your server, add the following line to your start script(s):

set JAVA_VM=-hotspot
