About Oracle Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for SNA 10g R3 Release

Oracle Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for SNA is a domains-based product that provides bi-directional connectivity between Oracle Tuxedo clients or servers and mainframe applications. The mainframe applications may use Customer Information Control System/Extended System Architecture (CICS TS) and Information Management System (IMS) implicit LU6.2, or any IBM-supported Application Program-to-Program Communication (APPC) or CICS TS interface.

Supported Platforms

The following sections list the supported platforms for each of the Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for SNA components.

Supported Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for SNA Gateway Platforms

Table 1 provides a list of Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for SNA Gateway supported platforms.

Note: 32-bit Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for SNA can run on a 64-bit machine. However, it must run on a 32-bit version of Tuxedo 10.0. It cannot run on a 64-bit version of Tuxedo 10.0.

Fixed Problems

This section describes known problems from the prior release of the Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for SNA that have been fixed with the current release of the Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for SNA software. Table 4 lists a Case or CR (Change Request) number for each problem.

Problem: CRM restart failed with a CICS error message: "SNASVCMG attempted invalid logon. SENSE CODE 0835 003B (33)".
Platform: z/OS 1.4
Solution: Use the new command line option "-V" for VTAM Generic resources environment. It clears the CICS VGR connection when the CRM/CICS connection is broken.
CR294599
Problem: Enhancement CR. GWSNAX can accept a request with specific appkey.
Platform: HP-UX 11.23
Solution: GWSNAX provides a default user named "tpsysadm" when a call request does not have a user id.
CR296989
Problem: Global transaction id is not included in specific ULOG messages.
Platform: Solaris 9
Solution: Remove libengine for SNAX from $TUXDIR/udataobj/DMTYPE at build time.
This library must be added by build_dgw (a Tuxedo utility used to generate GWSNAX) following libtux.
CR305582
Problem: CRM returns rc = 0 even it stops due to an error.
Platform: z/OS 1.4
Solution: Set the proper CRM error return code.
CR306123
Problem: All GWSNAX sessions cannot be recovered.
Platform: HP-UX 11.00
Solution: Issue TP_ENDED for timed-out, non-transaction, [MC_]ALLOCATE pending outbound request.
