Installing Oracle Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for TCP Gateway

The installation procedure for Oracle Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for TCP Gateway is slightly different for each platform on which the product can be installed. Follow the directions for the appropriate platform. The following information assists you in successfully installing this product:

Note: To upgrade from previous releases of eLink for Mainframe TCP, refer to Oracle Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for TCP Release Notes.

 


Preparing to Install

The TMA TCP Gateway product runs on UNIX-based and Windows platforms. Complete the following tasks prior to installing the TMA TCP Gateway software:

 


Installing TMA TCP Gateway

The TMA TCP Gateway product runs on Unix-based platforms and Windows. Refer to the appropriate platform sections for installation instructions.

Installing on UNIX Platforms in Console Mode

Perform the following steps to install the Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for TCP Gateway software in console mode on a certified UNIX platform:

  1. Log on as root.
  2. $ su -
    Password:
  3. Access the CD-ROM device.
  4. # ls -l /dev/cdrom
    total 0
    brw-rw-rw-     1 root     sys     22,   0 July 1 10:55 c1b0t010
  5. Mount the CD-ROM. Mount commands vary depending on your system configuration. Refer to your System Administrator for the specific command for your system. Use a command similar to the following command to mount the CD-ROM on any UNIX system, except HP-UX.
  6. # mount -r -F cdfs /dev/cdrom/c1b0t0l0 /mnt

    If you are installing on an HP-UX system, use a command similar to the following command:

    # mount -r -F cdfs -o cdcase /dev/cdrom/c1b0t010 /mnt
  7. Change the directory to the unix directory on your CD-ROM device. For example,
  8. # cd /mnt
  9. List the CD-ROM contents.
  10. # ls
  11. Execute the installation program in character-based mode by selecting the appropriate file for your platform from the listed files. For example, for the AIX platform, select:
  12. # sh tmatcp100_32_aix_53_ppc.bin -i console
  13. The installation program runs and prompts you for responses (see Listing 2-1 for an example).

Installing on Windows or UNIX Platforms in Graphics Mode

Perform the following steps to install the Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for TCP Gateway software on a Windows platform or on a UNIX platform in Graphics Mode:

  1. Insert the Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for TCP Gateway CD-ROM.
  2. Do one of the following, depending on your platform:
  3. On Windows:

    When installing on a Windows platform, Install Anywhere should start automatically when you load the CD. Proceed to Step 3.

    If it does not, complete the following steps:

    1. Choose StartArrow symbolRun. The Run dialog displays.
    2. Click Browse to navigate to the CD-ROM drive.
    3. Select tmatcp100_32_win_2k3_x86.exe.
    4. Click Open.
    5. Install Anywhere runs and the Introduction screen (Listing 2-1) is displayed.
    6. Proceed to Step 3.
    7. On UNIX:

    8. Log on as root to install the Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for TCP Gateway software.
    9. $ su -
      Password:
    10. Access the CD-ROM device.
    11. > ls -l /dev/cdrom
      total 0
      brw-rw-rw-     1 root     sys     22,   0 July 1 10:55 c1b0t010
    12. Mount the CD-ROM. Mount commands vary depending on your system configuration. Refer to your System Administrator for the specific command for your system. Use a command similar to the following command to mount the CD-ROM on any UNIX system, except HP-UX.
    13. > mount -r -F cdfs /dev/cdrom/c1b0t0l0 /mnt

      If you are installing on an HP-UX system, use a command similar to the following command:

      > mount -r -F cdfs -o cdcase /dev/cdrom/c1b0t010 /mnt
    14. Change the directory to the top-level directory on your CD-ROM device. For example,
    15. > cd /mnt/
    16. List the CD-ROM contents.
    17. Execute the installation program.
    18. /mnt> sh tmatcp100_<platform>.bin
    19. Proceed to Step 3.
  4. Click Next to continue with the installation. The Choose Install Set screen is displayed. This screen appears in Windows installations only.
  5. Note: If you click the No option button, you will not be able to continue with the installation. You must either exit the installation or go back to the Introduction screen.
  6. Click Next to proceed with the installation. The Choose BEA Home Directory screen is displayed.
  7. Create or select a BEA Home directory (the default for Windows is c:\bea; the default for UNIX is $HOME/bea). The BEA Home directory is the root directory in which you install all BEA products.
  8. If you do not already have a BEA Home directory, you can create one by following these steps:

    1. Select the Create a New BEA Home option button.
    2. Accept the default location for your BEA Home directory or click Browse to specify a different location. If you accept the default location, it will be your BEA Home directory and your Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for TCP Gateway software will install in the corresponding Tuxedo directory. If you do not want to install Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for TCP Gateway in this default location, you will have the opportunity, in Step 7, to choose another directory in which to install the software.
    3. Click Next to proceed with the installation.
    4. If you already have one or more BEA Home directories on your system, you can use one of those directories as follows:

    5. Select the Use Existing BEA Home option button.
    6. Select a BEA Home directory from the list displayed to the right of the option buttons. All valid BEA Home directories are displayed in this list. Valid BEA Home directories are directories where BEA products have been installed using the standard installation program.
    7. Click Next to proceed with the installation.
  9. If the installation encounters a previous version of Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for TCP in the selected BEA Home directory, the Previous Installation Found message box displays.
  10. From this message box, do one of the following:

    • Click Continue to install over the previous version.
    • Click Cancel to return to the Choose BEA Home Directory Screen and select another directory.
    • Click Exit to exit the installation program.
  11. If you do not have a successful installation of Tuxedo 10.0 in the BEA Home directory, the Tuxedo 10.0 Not Installed message box displays.
  12. From this message box, do one of the following:

    • Click Exit to exit the installation program.
    • Click Previous to return to the Choose BEA Home Directory Screen and select another directory.
  13. The Pre-Installation Summary screen is displayed.
  14. If the Pre-Installation Summary information is correct, click Install to continue with the Installation. If information requires editing, click Previous to go back to the screens that require changes. Click Cancel to abort the installation process.
  15. Upon installation completion, the Install Complete screen is displayed. Click Done to exit the installation program.

 


Uninstalling Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for TCP Gateway

This section provides instructions for uninstalling the Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for TCP Gateway component. The following topics are discussed:

Uninstalling on UNIX Platforms in Console Mode

To uninstall Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for TCP Gateway on a UNIX platform:

  1. Change directories to your uninstaller_TMATCP directory with the following command:
  2. > cd <bea/home>/tuxedo10.0/uninstaller_TMATCP
  3. Start the uninstallation program with the following command:
  4. <bea/home> sh UninstallTMATCP -i console

    Listing 2-2 displays a Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for TCP Gateway component uninstallation.

    Note: The single-dash bar just beneath the double-dash bar in Listing 2-2 is a progress indicator. When the single-dash bar becomes the same length as the double-dash bar, uninstallation is complete.

Uninstalling on Windows Platforms

Perform the following steps to uninstall the Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for TCP Gateway software on a Windows platform:

  1. Choose StartArrow symbolProgramsArrow symbolOracle WebLogic E-Business PlatformArrow symbolTuxedo Mainframe Adapter for TCP 10.0Arrow symbolUninstall Oracle Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for TCP from the Start menu. The Tuxedo Mainframe Adapter for TCP Uninstaller screen is displayed.
  2. Click Uninstall to start uninstalling TMA TCP. Click Exit to complete the uninstallation.
