This is the implementation class for the user management session bean. It provides functionality for creating and removing users and groups, manipulating user/group relationships, and accessing system level information for users and groups.

Creates a user of a specific type, based on entries in the UnifiedProfileType tools. The newly created user will be returned as a User, but can be casted to the correct type.

InvalidPasswordException - if the password is malformed or otherwise invalid

Removes a user from the system.

getCachedGroupNamesForUser

public java.lang.String[] getCachedGroupNamesForUser(java.lang.String username)
                                              throws UserManagementException

Returns the list of group names of which a user is a member, from a pre-calculated cache. Use this in a system where there is a deep group hierarchy, or just a large number of groups, for performance gains. The refresh interval of the GroupCache startup class should be tuned to minimize data inconsistencies caused by pre-calculating this information.

Parameters:

username - the username of the user

Returns:

the list of groups of which a user is a member

getUserNamesForGroup
