Manage Page Contents

The contents of a page are made up of portlets and books. The Manage Page Contents editor shows you which portlets and books are available for you to use and which are already on your page. You can easily add and remove portlets and books to construct your page.

Note: Book and Page resources are often created by developers in WebLogic Workshop. In order to make these resources visible in the library, you must create a desktop in the Administration Portal using the portal created in Workshop as the template. For example, if a developer creates book and page resources in a portal called NewTestPortal in Workshop, you must create a new desktop and select the NewTestPortal as your template for the desktop.

To manage page contents:

  1. In the Portal Resource tree, select a page.

Note: If you don't see the right page in the Portal Resource tree, make sure you have selected the right Web Application. To change to a different Web application, select a new one in the Portal Web Application pull-down menu above the Portal Resources tree.

  2. Select the Manage Page Contents tab in the Editor.
  3. To add portlets to the page, click Add to Page next to the appropriate portlet.
  4. To remove portlets from the page, click Remove from Page in the Portlets on the Page form.
  5. To add a book to the page, scroll to the bottom of the screen and click Add to Page next to the appropriate book in the list.
  6. To verify your changes in a browser, right click on the desktop that contains the modified page in the Portal Resources tree, and click View Desktop.
