Edit Repository Connection

You can modify repository connection information for repositories within the Virtual Content Repository. For example, you may want to change the cache settings or update property values that are used for third-party repositories.

Also, you can enable a BEA repository to use Library Services.

Note: Once you have enabled library services for a BEA repository, you cannot disable them. If you want to revert to a non-library services repository, you must create a new instance of the repository.

To modify a repository:

  1. In the Manage Repositories tree, right-click the repository you want to modify and select Edit.
  2. In the Editor pane, provide the following information:
  3. Input Field What is needed:
    Repository Name Enter the name of the repository you are creating.
    Connection Class

    The default connection class for a BEA repository is:

    com.bea.content.spi.internal.RepositoryImpl

    For the connection class information for third-party repositories, see your vendor documentation.

    User Name Enter the user name you want to use to login to this repository.
    Password Enter the password associated with the user name used to login to this repository.
    Enable Library Services?

    Mark this checkbox if you want to use WebLogic Portal's Library Services for this repository.

    Once you have enabled Library Serivces, you cannot disable them.

    If you want remove Library Services, you'll need to create a new instance of the repository.

  4. In the Properties dialog, fill in any properties that you want to add for this repository. Third-party repositories may require additional properties to identify the repository connection. See your vendor documentation for details.
  5. In the Cache Properties box, edit the cache properties, if necessary. You can also choose to accept the default cache settings.
  6. Click Update.

A summary of the edited repository information is displayed in the Editor pane.
