Server --> Connections --> Tuning

Overview

Use this tab to configure backlog and login timeout settings for the server's default network connections. Note that the attributes on this page apply to connections that use server's default listen address and port settings.

You can optionally define additional addresses and ports by creating network channels and network access points. If you have assigned a network channel to this server, you can fine-tune this server's use of the channel by clicking the Channel Overrides link.

Attributes

Attribute Label

Description

Value Constraints

Accept Backlog

Allowed backlog of new TCP connection requests for both the plaintext and SSL port. Setting the backlog to 0 may prevent accepting any incoming connection on some of the OS.

MBean: weblogic.management.
configuration.ServerMBean

Attribute: AcceptBacklog

Minimum: 0

Default: 50

Configurable: yes

Readable: yes

Writable: yes

Login Timeout

The login timeout for the server's plain-text (non-SSL) port, in milliseconds. This is the maximum amount of time allowed for a new connection to establish. A value of 0 indicates there is no maximum. The value must be equal to or greater than 0.

MBean: weblogic.management.
configuration.ServerMBean

Attribute: LoginTimeoutMillis

Units: milliseconds

Minimum: 0

Maximum: 100000

Default: 5000

Configurable: yes

Dynamic: yes

Readable: yes

Writable: yes

SSL Login Timeout

Specifies the number of milliseconds that WebLogic Server waits for an SSL connection before timing out. SSL connections take longer to negotiate than regular connections.

If clients are connecting over the Internet, raise the default number to accommodate additional network latency. A value of 0disables the attribute.

MBean: weblogic.management.
configuration.SSLMBean

Attribute: LoginTimeoutMillis

Units: milliseconds

Minimum: 1

Maximum: 2147483647

Default: 25000

Configurable: yes

Dynamic: yes

Readable: yes

Writable: yes

Reverse DNS Allowed

Returns whether or not the kernel is allowed to perform reverse DNS lookups.

MBean: weblogic.management.
configuration.ServerMBean

Attribute: ReverseDNSAllowed

Default: false

Dynamic: yes

Readable: yes

Writable: yes

Maximum Open Sockets

The maximum number of open sockets allowed in server at a given point of time. When max threshold is reached, server stops accepting any more new requests until no of sockets drops below threshold.

MBean: weblogic.management.
configuration.ServerMBean

Attribute: MaxOpenSockCount

Minimum: 0

Maximum: 2147483647

Default: 2147483647

Configurable: yes

Dynamic: yes

Readable: yes

Writable: yes
