To manage or participate in transactions that span multiple WebLogic Server 9.x, 8.x, and 7.x domains (that is, all participating domains run on WebLogic Server 9.x, 8.x, or 7.x, or a combination of these versions), you must set a security credential for all domains to the same value. To set the credential value, follow these steps in each server in all domains:
Note: The setting introduces a security risk. The server's kernel identity is used when communicating with other domains using a non-secure channel. The kernel ID could be intercepted.
If WebLogic Server 6.x domains participate in the distributed transactions, use the system password from the WebLogic Server 6.x domain.
After you finish
Repeat these steps using the same credential value for all domains that participate in inter-domain transactions.
If you have domains running on WebLogic Server 6.1, see Changing the System Password for instructions to set the system password to the same value as the credential specified in domains running on later version of WebLogic Server.
