Target SNMP log filters

After you create a log filter, you assign (target) it to one or more server instances. The log filter listens only for messages on the servers to which it has been targeted.

Note: To temporarily stop this log filter from generating traps, un-target it from all servers by deselecting them on the Servers tab.

To target log filters:

  1. If you have not already done so, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Lock & Edit (see Use the Change Center).
  2. In the Administration Console, expand Diagnostics > SNMP Agent and select Log Filters.
  3. On the SNMP Log Filters page, click the log filter name.
  4. Select the Servers tab.
  5. On the Servers tab, check each server on which you want the log filter to listen for messages.
  6. Click Save.
  7. To activate these changes, in the Change Center of the Administration Console, click Activate Changes.
Not all changes take effect immediately—some require a restart (see Use the Change Center).
