Requirements for Setting Up Siebel Mobile Applications
This task is a step in Process of Setting Up Siebel Mobile Connected Applications. Before starting to set up your Siebel Mobile application, you must meet the following requirements:
- The installed software for Siebel Mobile is Siebel Fix Pack 8.1.1.11/8.2.2.4.
Install either Siebel CRM version 8.1.1.11/8.2.2.4 for new installations or Siebel Fix Pack 8.1.1.11/8.2.2.4 for existing installations prior to 8.1.1.11/8.2.2.4. For more information about new installations and patch installations, see Siebel Installation Guide for the operating system you are using.
- If it is required, you must run the Siebel Incremental Repository Merge to update your database to 8.1.1.11/8.2.2.4.
Running IRM is necessary only after installing 8.1.1.11/8.2.2.4 as a patch installation for an existing 8.1.1.x/8.2.2.x installation. For more information about setting up and using Siebel Incremental Repository Merge, see Siebel Database Upgrade Guide.
For new installations, running Siebel Incremental Repository Merge is not required. Install a fresh Siebel database and go through the database install process to get to 8.1.1.11/8.2.2.4 Fix Pack.
- All standard Siebel Server and Siebel Web Server Extension (SWSE) configurations have been carried out before you run any Siebel Mobile scripts on the Siebel Server and SWSE.
- For existing installations, you might have to run some Siebel Mobile scripts on the Siebel Server and SWSE. For more information, see the following topics:
- For new Siebel Mobile installations, doing the standard Siebel Server and SWSE configuration is sufficient for the language or languages selected during Siebel CRM installation. However, to set up Siebel Mobile applications for new languages, then complete the following procedures:
NOTE: The Siebel Bookshelf is available on Oracle Technology Network (http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/indexes/documentation/index.html) and Oracle Software Delivery Cloud. It might also be installed locally on your intranet or on a network location.
