Siebel Deployment Planning Guide > Siebel Client Deployment Planning > About Siebel Open UIYou can deploy Siebel Business Applications using a new user interface option, Siebel Open UI. Siebel Open UI is an alternative to high interactivity or standard interactivity. Siebel Open UI provides a rich user interface experience, like high interactivity, yet presents many advantages over high interactivity and standard interactivity. It is based on browser standards and supports recent versions of several browsers. You can deploy employee applications or partner applications, such as Siebel Call Center or Siebel PRM Portal, in Siebel Open UI. You can also deploy customer applications, such as Siebel eSales or Siebel eService, in Siebel Open UI. A new Application Object Manager component is provided to support Siebel eService for Siebel Open UI. NOTE: Most of the information in About High Interactivity and Standard Interactivity and other topics in this chapter pertains only to high interactivity or standard interactivity and has not been significantly updated. For more information about the Siebel client types that use the user interface deployment options in this chapter, see About Siebel Client Types. User interface references in this guide assume that you are using Siebel Open UI. The Siebel application procedures in this guide assume that you do not use left-hand navigation.
