Creating New Records for Barcode Data (End User)

You can use the barcode toolbar and the barcode reader to create new records in Siebel Field Service.

This task is a step in Process of Managing Records with Barcode Readers.

To create new records for barcode data

1. On the Barcode toolbar, click New.
2. Navigate to the view that is to receive the barcode information.
3. If multiple values appear on the Use drop-down list, then select the type of information contained in the barcode (for example, an asset number).
4. Scan the barcode.

   A new record in the active applet is created, and the appropriate field in the new record is populated with the information from the barcode.

5. If you want to create multiple records, then continue scanning the barcodes.
