Updating Records with Barcode Data (End User)

You can use the barcode toolbar and the barcode reader to update existing records in Siebel Field Service.

This task is a step in Process of Managing Records with Barcode Readers.

To update a record with barcode data

1. On the Barcode toolbar, click Update.
2. Navigate to the view that is to receive the barcode information.
3. If multiple values appear on the Use drop-down list, then select the type of information contained in the barcode (for example, a part number).
4. Click the applet, and select the record to receive the number from a barcode.
5. Scan the barcode.

   The appropriate field in the selected record is populated with the information from the barcode. If the field already has a value, then the barcode information replaces the value.
