Creating Time Zoom Intervals on the Dispatch Board Gantt Chart (High-Interactivity Client)

By default, the zoom intervals on the Gantt chart are 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2, and 4. However, dispatchers might have to work with time frames that are larger than these default values. You can configure the zoom intervals to different time spans, making the information appear more compact. For more information about using the time zoom intervals with the Gantt chart, see Setting User Preferences for the Dispatch Board (End User).

In the following example task, you configure the fifth zoom interval value to include a weekly zoom interval. For more information about performing configuration tasks with Siebel Tools, see Using Siebel Tools.

This task is a step in Process of Configuring the Dispatch Board (High-Interactivity Client).

To create the time zoom intervals on the Dispatch Board Gantt chart

1. Log in to Siebel Tools as an administrator.
2. Lock the FS Dispatch Board project for editing.
3. In the Object Explorer, navigate to Applet, and query for the FS DB Planned GanttChart AX Applet.
4. Navigate to Applet, then Applet User Prop, and query for Zoom Interval*, making sure to include the wildcard asterisk symbol (*).

   The query returns a series of records from Zoom Interval 1 to Zoom Interval 5.

5. Select the Zoom Interval 5 record, and update the Value field as follows:

   #WEEK#DAY# WK#

   The format for this field follows:

   #Major Unit Value#Minor Unit Value#3 Character Label#

   The valid zoom interval values are: QUARTER HOUR, HALF HOUR, HOUR, 2 HOUR, 4 HOUR, 6 HOUR, DAY, WEEK, MONTH, YEAR

6. Select the Zoom Interval Default record, and update the Value field to 5.

   The valid values for Zoom Interval Default Setting are 1 to 5.

7. Compile the FS DB Planned GanttChart AX Applet, and replace the Siebel Repository File (SRF).
8. Restart the client, and view the new time interval on the Dispatch Board.

   The fifth time interval changes from 4 to Wk. When you click this button, the Gantt chart changes to show the information in a week and day time span.
