Web content generally refers to the information in a Web page or Web application, including text, images, forms, and sounds. WCAG are part of a series of accessibility guidelines, including the Authoring Tool Accessibility Guidelines (ATAG) and the User Agent Accessibility Guidelines (UAAG). The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines Working Group (WCAGWG) developed WCAG technical documents. The WCAGWC is part of the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI) for the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). Version 2.0 of the WCAG was approved in December of 2008.
