SMQ Message Service


This business service consists of the main functions for Store-and-Forward Messaging. Table 12 lists the SMQ Message Service methods, and their definitions.

CheckMsgStatus

Queries the status field of a given message.

CreateMessageHistory

Creates a new record in the message history view.

FormatMsg

Formats a message to the proper XML format.

GenDataMsg

Creates a data message based on a message object.

GetTimeout

Calculates any of the three types of time out parameters for a given message object.

PingDevice

Sends a Ping message to check whether the device is within coverage.

ProcessUserQueue

Used primarily in the inbound processing. It processes all available inbound messages for a given user inbound queue.

RegisterMobileDevice

Handles device registration when a registration message is received.

RunWorkflowForTeam

Executes a workflow process for a set of users.

SendMsg

Sends a properly formatted message to the SMQ transport service.

UpdateMsgStatus

Changes a message status to a given value.
