About Multiple Queue Managers


A Store-and-Forward messaging application can send and receive messages by way of multiple IBM MQe Queue Managers. Each MQe Queue Manager is a server process. It has a unique name, can run on any host, listens on a specified port number, and has its own storage for queues.

Each Queue Manager has one SMQReceiver component. The SMQReceiver dispatches the messages in the InboundQ to each user's inbound queue and starts a task to process inbound messages in any Workflow Process Manager server component. The queues for each user are managed by their respective Queue Managers.
