Setting Batch Engine Parameters

Use this procedure to set batch engine parameters.

If you add more than one record, then data is processed only if it matches the conditions in all the records you added. In other words, the conditions are treated as a logical AND.

After the engine has processed transactions, tiers, buckets, or statements using the parameters, you must either delete the parameters to process all transactions in later runs, or create new parameters to process some new subset of parameters in the next run. For more information, see Deleting Batch Engine Parameters.

To set a batch engine parameter

  1. Navigate to the Administration - Loyalty Programs screen, Engine Parameters view.
  2. Click the Transaction Parameters, Tier Parameters, Bucket Parameters, or Statement Parameters view tab.

These views have the same fields, but they have different options available in the lists of values for the fields, depending on what values are needed for that type of parameter.

  3. Add one or more new records and complete the necessary fields, described in the following table.
    Field
    Description

    Object

Displays the object that the parameter applies to. The object depends on the type of parameter you are setting:

    • Transaction Parameters. The object is transaction.
    • Tier Parameters. The object is tier.
    • Bucket Parameters. The object is Member.
    • Statement Parameters. The object is Member.

You can parameterize transaction, tier, bucket and statement processing based on transaction, bucket, and statement attribute and on member dominant tier.

To setup member dominant tier as a parameter, you must select the transaction, tier, bucket or statement (in the appropriate views) as the object, select Member Tier as the attribute, and select the required tier as the value.

For transaction processing, set up and activate the Member Tier attribute in the transaction attributes for the program (in the Program screen, Program Attributes, Transaction Parameters view).

    Attribute

Select the object attribute that is used in the conditional statement.

    Condition

Select the conditional operator that is used in the conditional statement.

    Value

Enter the value that is used in the conditional statement.
