Siebel Public Sector Guide > Administering Benefits Cases > Process of Configuring Applications > Configuring Contact MatchingWhen an agent performs contact matching, the social security number fields in the submitted application are compared to the social security number fields in contact records in Siebel Public Sector to find matching contact records. Administrators can configure the criteria for contact matching by specifying other data fields, such as the date of birth and last name for the contact, to include in this comparison processing. They can also configure the contact fields that appear during the contact matching process when the agent views matching contact records and creates a new contact record. These contact fields are populated with available data from the submitted application. Administrators can also disable contact matching so that an agent can upload the data in a submitted application into Siebel Public Sector without finding matching contact records for that application. They can also designate that agents must match all contact records before they can upload an application. For more information, see Finding Matching Contact Records. This task is a step in Process of Configuring Applications.
