Licensing Information

Release 10.2.3.2

E14463-01

October 2009

Oracle Audit Vault is a powerful enterprisewide solution that efficiently consolidates, detects, monitors, alerts, and reports on audit data for security auditing and compliance. Oracle Audit Vault provides the mechanisms to collect audit data generated by Oracle9i Database Release 2, Oracle Database 10g Release 1, Oracle Database 10g Release 2, Oracle Database 11g Release 1, Oracle Database 11g Release 2, Microsoft SQL Server 2000, Microsoft SQL Server 2005, Microsoft SQL Server 2008, Sybase Adaptive Server Enterprise (ASE) Release 12.5 through Release 15.0, and IBM DB2 Version 8.2 through Version 9.5.

This document covers the following topics:

1 Introducing Oracle Audit Vault

Oracle Audit Vault is comprised of two components that are licensed separately. They are:

  • Oracle Audit Vault Server – The Audit Vault Server is comprised of a repository, Oracle Audit Vault Console, and the Oracle Audit Vault application that consolidates and secures the audit trail data for centralized reporting and alerting.

  • Oracle Audit Vault collection agent – The Audit Vault collection agent manages the movement of audit trail data from audit sources to the Audit Vault Server.

2 Special-Use Licensing

Oracle Audit Vault is a complete stacked application. As part of the Oracle Audit Vault installation, Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2.0.4) with the Database partitioning, Oracle Advanced Security, and Oracle Database Vault options is installed. The stacked application, database, installed options, and Oracle Audit Vault components may not be used or deployed for other purposes.

Oracle Application Server Containers for J2EE (OC4J) is included with Oracle Audit Vault. This embedded version is provided solely to support Oracle Enterprise Manager (Database), Advanced Queuing Servlet, Audit Vault Console, and may not be used or deployed for other purposes.

The Oracle Audit Vault home software use is restricted to support the Oracle Audit Vault database repository and no other databases created using the Oracle Audit Vault executables are supported.

3 Third-Party Licenses

See Oracle Database Licensing Information for third-party licensing information. Oracle Audit Vault Release 10.2.3 licensing information is identical with this third-party licensing information for Oracle Database 10g Release 2 (10.2).

4 Documentation Accessibility

Our goal is to make Oracle products, services, and supporting documentation accessible to all users, including users that are disabled. To that end, our documentation includes features that make information available to users of assistive technology. This documentation is available in HTML format, and contains markup to facilitate access by the disabled community. Accessibility standards will continue to evolve over time, and Oracle is actively engaged with other market-leading technology vendors to address technical obstacles so that our documentation can be accessible to all of our customers. For more information, visit the Oracle Accessibility Program Web site at http://www.oracle.com/accessibility/.

Accessibility of Code Examples in Documentation

Screen readers may not always correctly read the code examples in this document. The conventions for writing code require that closing braces should appear on an otherwise empty line; however, some screen readers may not always read a line of text that consists solely of a bracket or brace.

Accessibility of Links to External Web Sites in Documentation

This documentation may contain links to Web sites of other companies or organizations that Oracle does not own or control. Oracle neither evaluates nor makes any representations regarding the accessibility of these Web sites.

Deaf/Hard of Hearing Access to Oracle Support Services

To reach Oracle Support Services, use a telecommunications relay service (TRS) to call Oracle Support at 1.800.223.1711. An Oracle Support Services engineer will handle technical issues and provide customer support according to the Oracle service request process. Information about TRS is available at http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/consumerfacts/trs.html, and a list of phone numbers is available at http://www.fcc.gov/cgb/dro/trsphonebk.html.
