REMOTE_HOST

Returns the name of the remote host making the request.

This variable is specific to the current gateway program request.

Type and Usage

• "Web Server"

Output

• Returns the host name as a string.

• If the hostname is unknown to the server, returns the value of REMOTE_ADDR as a string.

Example

As information output on a page or to a log:

REMOTE_HOST=207.0.0.1

As part of an Idoc Script statement or evaluation:

<$if REMOTE_HOST$>
