public interface Mergeable
Methods that are necessary for merging groups of properties. Objects that implement this interface are used by Rule
classes to specify how an item in a Dataview
, such as a cell in a table header or a number in a graph, should be rendered.
Because several different Rules
can affect the properties that determine how an object is rendered, the classes that define these properties must be able to be merged together to make a single set of specifications for rendering a Dataview
.
For example, the ViewFormat
, which groups properties that specify how numbers are formatted in a Dataview
, implements this interface. Imagine a ViewFormat
in which the ScaleFactor
property has been set, and another ViewFormat
in which the CurrencySymbol
format has been set. These two ViewFormat
objects can be merged, resulting in a single ViewFormat
in which both the ScaleFactor
and CurrencySymbol
properties are set.
