2.6 Application Requirements for Supported Document Formats

Oracle IRM Desktop supports a wide range of popular document formats. For each format, Oracle IRM Desktop controls the relevant application to display sealed documents. The following sections describe application requirements for some formats.

Oracle IRM recommends that you install Oracle IRM Desktop after installing the relevant rendering applications. For example, if you want to use sealed Microsoft Word documents, install Oracle IRM Desktop after installing the Microsoft Office software. This ensures that the sealable file formats are registered with Windows before the Oracle IRM Desktop installation.
