Managing Page and Region Caching

One way to improve an application's performance is to take advantage of page and region caching. Developers can configure page and region caching by setting the Cache attribute on the Edit Page or Edit Region pages. This section describes how Workspace administrators can view and purge cached regions and pages.

Purging Cached Regions

To view and purge cached regions:

  1. Navigate to the appropriate Page Definition. See "Accessing a Page Definition" in Oracle Application Express Application Builder User's Guide.

  2. Click the Administration icon.

  3. On the Administration page, click Manage Service.

  4. Under Manage Meta Data, click Application Cache and select one of the following:

    • Purge Cached Regions by Region

    • Purge Cached Region by Application

    • Purge Cached Regions by Workspace

  5. If you select Purge Cached Regions:

    1. You can customize the appearance the page using the Search bar at the top of the page. See "Customizing Interactive Reports" in Oracle Application Express Application Builder User's Guide.

    2. Select the regions you want to purge and click Purge Checked.

  6. If you select Purge Cached Regions by Application:

    1. Select an application.

    2. Click Purge Cached Regions.

  7. If you select Purge Cached Regions by Workspace, click Purge All Cached Regions.

Purging Cached Pages

To view and purge cached pages:

  1. Navigate to the appropriate Page Definition. See "Accessing a Page Definition" in Oracle Application Express Application Builder User's Guide.

  2. Click the Administration icon.

  3. On the Administration page, click Manage Service.

  4. Under Manage Meta Data, click Application Cache and select one of the following:

    • Purge Cached Pages by Page

    • Purge Cached Pages by Application

    • Purge Expired Cached Pages by Application

  5. If you select Purge Cached Pages by Page:

    1. You can customize the appearance the page using the Search bar at the top of the page. See "Customizing Interactive Reports" in Oracle Application Express Application Builder User's Guide.

    2. Select the regions you want to purge and click Purge Checked.

  6. If you select Purge Cached Pages by Application:

    1. Select an application.

    2. Click Purge Cached Pages.

  7. If you select Purge Expired Cached Pages by Application:

    1. Select an application.

    2. Click Purge Expired.
