extends javax.swing.JToolBar

A control bar is a customized toolbar with support for overflow. When there is not enough space to display all components in the toolbar, an overflow button is displayed. Clicking this makes a popup appear containing all overflowed components.

Unlike JToolBar, you can make the items in the ControlBar right aligned, or bottom aligned if the orientation is vertical.

Note: in order to implement the overflow behavior, components are removed from the JToolBar container by the layout manager. This removal happens only when the overflow toolbar is popped up. While the overflow popup is visible, methods such as Container.getComponentCount() may not return all items in the toolbar. The iterator() method provides a safe way to iterate over all components in the toolbar irrespective of whether the overflow is popped up.

isOverflowPopupVisible

public boolean isOverflowPopupVisible()
Returns true if the overflow popup is currently visible. When this method returns true, you should take care with methods such as Container.getComponentCount(), because they may not return all items in the toolbar.

true if the overflow popup is currently visible.

iterator

Iterates the components in this control bar. Even if the popup is currently visible, this will return all components.

setAlignment

public void setAlignment(int alignment)
Sets the alignment of the bar. The default alignment is SwingConstants.LEFT. The alignment can only be changed to a value that makes sense for the current orientation.

Parameters:
alignment - the alignment. Must be SwingConstants.TOP, SwingConstants.LEFT, SwingConstants.BOTTOM, SwingConstants.RIGHT.
Throws:
java.lang.IllegalStateException - if the current orientation is SwingConstants.VERTICAL and the specified alignment is SwingConstants.LEFT or SwingConstants.RIGHT, or the current orientation is SwingConstants.HORIZONTAL and the specified alignment is SwingConstants.TOP or SwingConstants.BOTTOM.
