MySQL Installer Release Notes
A release that includes MySQL server 5.5.27 and 5.6.6 m9.
While creating a user, the Installer will now warn the user if a username exceeds 16 characters in length.

The Windows Installer now adds full permissions for the user
executing the Installer to files that are created by the
Installer, which includes my.ini
. Before,
only those with administrative rights would have these
privileges.

Selecting Show Advanced Options adds a fourth installation step, but the counter would continue to be labeled as "x of 3" steps. It would jump from "3 of 3" to "4 of 4" steps. (Bug #65067, Bug #13992155)
MySQL 5.5 failed to install properly if MySQL 5.1 was already
installed. It would report that the datadir
of a previously installed MySQL 5.1 installation conflicted with
the MySQL 5.5 datadir
, and would require the
user to define an alternative directory path.
