Oracle Mobile Collaboration

Installing the Mobile Data Sync Client

  1. Go to the Oracle Collaboration Suite portal and login, using your Single Sign-On user name and password.
    Note: If you are a returning user and you want to install this client, go to Advanced Preferences and click Add a device. Then continue with step 9.
  2. Click Mobile Preferences.
  3. Enter your mobile telephone number.
  4. In the Carrier & Model list, select your carrier and make/model of your Pocket PC device.
    If you have a Pocket PC device that is not listed, select AT&T Wireless and Audiovox PPC 4100.
  5. Enter your Single Sign-on Password.
  6. Enter your Personal Identification Number.
  7. Select a Default Inbox View.
  8. Click Next.
  9. Under Automatic Configuration, select Mobile Data Sync Client.
    Note: On Blackberry devices, only Mobile Push Mail Client is visible, but selecting Mobile Push Mail Client also installs the Mobile Data Sync Client.
  10. Click Configure.

On your mobile device, you will receive an SMS with the URL from which to download the client.

  1. Open the SMS message, and ensure it has the following information before you click on the URL:

    From:
            +1nnn nnn nnnn - Oracle SMS Messenger number
    Subject:     < ... >
    Body:        Mobile Data Sync Client

    < URL to download mobile data sync client >
  2. Click the URL and wait until all software is downloaded.
  3. On your Pocket PC device, click Start, then Programs, then Synthesis SyncML.
  4. Enter your Registration information.
