This document describes problems you might encounter when running the Sun Mainframe Transaction Processing software (Sun MTP), and recommends ways to solve them. It also provides information about ways you can modify your system to improve performance.
The chapters in this document are organized according to the kinds of problems you might encounter. Each chapter describes the problems and includes recommendations for solving them.
Chapter 1 describes initial installation problems, as well as problems that can arise during a software upgrade.
Chapter 2 describes problems that can prevent Sun MTP from starting.
Chapter 3 describes abnormal terminations of regions and transactions and how to recover from them.
Chapter 4 describes client terminal-related problems.
Chapter 5 describes causes of data corruption and ways to recover VSAM files.
Chapter 7 describes problems with asynchronously started transactions.
Chapter 8 describes problems you can encounter when using a third-party database product.
Chapter 9 describes problems related to standard batch operations.
Chapter 10 describes startup problems related to the administration server, and explains how to enable debug tracing.
Chapter 11 describes problems you may encounter when running the Sun Mainframe Security Facility (Sun MSF).
Chapter 12 explains how to determine the causes of performance problems.
Chapter 13 describes the Sun MTP diagnostic tools.
The glossary contains a list of terms used in this document.
