Preface

This guide contains release notes for the System Management Services (SMS) 1.4 software.

Before You Read This Book

This guide is intended for the Sun Fire system administrator, who has a working knowledge of UNIX® systems, particularly those based on the Solaristrademark operating environment. If you do not have such knowledge, read the Solaris User and System Administrator documentation provided with this system, and consider UNIX system administration training.

All members of the next-generation Sun Fire server family can be configured as loosely-coupled clusters. However, it is currently outside of the scope of this document to address system management for Sun Fire cluster configurations.
