The following Solaris patches are recommended for Solaris 10 versions earlier than s10u1_b8:
Always use the latest versions of patches. More software patches might be available for the Sun Management Center 3.5 application. You must install all the patches required for your operating environment before installing the latest update of the Sun Management Center 3.5 software and this add-on.

These release notes describe known limitations that may affect this release of the Sun Management Center 3.5 Version 6 add-on software for the Sun Fire high-end systems.
Use command-line interface (CLI) commands to perform hot-swap operations, rather than Sun Management Center 3.5 Version 6 add-on software for Sun Fire high-end systems. For more information about hot-swapping operations on Sun Fire high-end Systems, refer to the latest Sun Fire High-End and Midrange Systems Dynamic Reconfiguration User's Guide and the Sun Fire systems service manual for your Sun Fire model.
If your tape drive is not connected to a storage area network (SAN), you are not affected by this problem.
If you have a StorageTek tape drive attached to a SAN, which is being used by Veritas Netbackup SSO, the Sun Management Center 3.5 Sun Fire High-End Systems Domain Config Reader is not compatible with the Veritas Netbackup SSO implementation. The Domain Config Reader does not issue commands that change the state or tape position of the device. However, because the tape device is attached to the SAN and is not a locally attached device, it can result in a SCSI being reset. The cause of the problem is that two separate hosts both can have devices opened at the same time.
Workaround: If you have this problem, contact your Sun service representative.
The Platform/Domain State Management (PDSM) module needs to describe what is wrong and what causes the error in its error messages.
Workaround: When you see an error while working in the PDSM module, look in these log files to see the status of the operation:
This section describes software bugs that were known at the time of this release and that you might notice or that can affect the operation of Sun Management Center 3.5 Version 6 software for Sun Fire high-end systems.
The Alarms table sometimes does not display updated alarms after you change the centerplane bus mode. If one of two centerplane support boards (CSBs) is degraded and the other is operating, an appropriate alarm is displayed in the Alarms table. If you then return the degraded CSB to operating mode, but degrade the second CSB, the Alarms table will not display the updated alarm information.
Workaround: Refer to the Domains table for the correct bus configurations.
Processors with the status degraded or offline generate corresponding alarms, which can be seen in both the Alarms table and the Processor table. After the system board is removed, the alarms no longer appear in the Processor table; however, they remain erroneously displayed in the Alarms table. [6249010, 6248755]
Acknowledging Alarms in the Alarms table of the domain console sometimes causes the console to "hang," displaying an hourglass mouse icon for a long period of time. [6248876]
When you use a dynamic reconfiguration (DR) operation to remove, then add, system boards containing empty memory slots in memory bank 1, the corresponding POST Status properties in the Memory Bank and DIMMs tables display the value DISABLED. A yellow alert alarm is generated, even though the DR operation has not changed the configuration. This alarm is erroneous. [6252214]
The Domain Config Reader (DCR) displays the processor type UltraSPARC-III+ for an UltraSPARC-III++ processor.
Workaround: Use the Platform Config Reader (PCR) or the SMS showboards command to display the correct UltraSPARC-III++ processor type.
After performing an addboard operation at the command-line interface (CLI) in System Management Services (SMS), the corresponding Sun Management Center Platform view sometimes requires 10 minutes to update.
Workaround: Allot up to 10 minutes for the Platform view to be updated.
After executing a PDSM operation, you may encounter a lack of system information when viewing the Hardware Summary view.
Workaround: Close the Details window and reopen it to view the latest system information displayed in Hardware Summary view.
